There are tons of ways to grow your audience. I don’t just say grow your monthly page views because having 100 loyal blog followers is more important to you those 1000 page views. The reason for this is because these loyal followers trust you and will buy from you when you refer products to them.

Ways to grow your blog

1.Facebook

Starting a Facebook page is something I wish I had started on day one. You will have to build up your followers to start seeing a payoff, but you have to start somewhere. I know some bloggers that get over a thousand page views a day from Facebook and they have less than 100k followers.

You can also join different blogging groups and the bloggers in the group help each other to grow by giving advice and sharing each other’s posts with their own audiences (that puts your content in front of thousands of new readers).

2.Twitter

I don’t like Twitter, but so many bloggers get really good traffic from it. Like any social media platform, you need to be active on it to see any payoff.

3.Stumbleupon

Stumbleupon is tricky. You need to add your own content mixed in with at least ¾ times more content of others to do well. I’ve had people stumble upon my posts on the platform and bring in crazy amounts of traffic, but it’s never been a consistent thing for me.

4.Google

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tactics are really important if you want to rank high with Google and appear on the first page. Using keywords that are relevant will help you to do that. Currently, I get about 250 page views from Google a day.

5.Pinterest

I’ll be honest, I’m not very good at the platforms I mentioned above. I wanted to inform you a bit about them though because I know there is great potential there. I plan to start building them up someday, though, one at a time. I’ve found it’s best to pick one and build it up before moving to another. Being a jack-of-all-trades, master of none, won’t do you any good in the blogging world.

I currently get anywhere from 150k to 350k page views per month from Pinterest and I was able to achieve this in a little over three months using Pinterest. That doesn’t mean I’m special or extra talented. It means I have an effective Pinterest strategy in place and am constantly refining it to make it better.

When I started my blog, I started using Pinterest straight away. I am so thankful I found out how amazing Pinterest was when I decided to start my blog. Honestly, if it weren’t for Pinterest I probably never would have started a blog in the first place. That’s where I figured out that people were making money from blogging…and all by those bloggers promoting their posts on the platform.

It’s super easy…even if you aren’t tech savvy at all 😉 I’ve even included a video tutorial if you prefer that over text. You can find the tutorial here.)

Is Pinterest easy to use?

Pinterest is very easy to use, but it’s also easy to do things that are just a waste of time.

When you are new to Pinterest you don’t have any followers to share your content with. Using group boards allows bloggers to collaborate with other bloggers that have a larger amount of followers. So in a nutshell, when you post your blog post’s pinnable image to a group board your pins have the potential to be seen by their followers.

You can find group boards by using Pingroupie or by seeing what group boards other bloggers in your niche are a part of. To join, there might be rules in the description at the top of the board or you could add a comment to one of the group board owner’s pins. To find the owner, you will need to look at the photos showing who all is a collaborator on the board. The owner is the first photo.

6.Your list

You should start your email list from day 1. New bloggers always put it off (I did it too) since you think…well I don’t have any readers so why would I pay for an email provider. I get it. Most bloggers are on a strict budget in the beginning.

But here’s why it’s important to you. The people that sign up for your email list are the people that want to hear more from you. They trust you and are part of your tribe. Any blogger that’s been in the game for a while knows the money is in your list.

Imagine if your Pinterest account or any other social media platform were to shut down or something (you never know). What do you do then? Start from scratch? That will really suck if you put months into building it up. I know I’d freak if I lost my 34k followers overnight!

It’d be better to have a couple thousand email addresses from your loyal readers to be able to send emails to let them know what happened, share your posts, and still being able to recommend products that way.

I recommend going with Convertkit. They are amazing and you can do so much with their service. But I get that they are not the cheapest email provider out there. I started with Madmimi and liked their service for the most part. It just doesn’t do all the things I need my email provider to do. You can find out exactly how to start an email list for beginners here.
